| | Frequently Asked Questions How is the new 3D TV technology different from older 3D? Prior to 2010, there have been 3D DVD titles that have come to market that use anaglyph glasses, which use lenses tinted red and cyan (or other colors) which are used to combine two false-color images. The result seen by the viewer is discolored and usually lower-resolution than the new method. The principal improvement of today's 3D technology is the use of active shutter and passive eyewear which are high contrast and provide for a better higher video resolution experience. Today's 3DTVs also have technology that enables 3D images to be rendered on screen as intended by the content providers. How is 3D TV different from 3D in the theater? 3DTV is a large screen, immersive experience. Many consumers have experienced 3D feature films at 3D movie theaters. The DLP technology is the technology used in majority of 3D cinema theaters. DLP is also the technology used in Mitsubishi 3D-Ready and Mitsubishi 3D TVs. In theaters, passive polarized 3D glasses are mainly used to view 3D movies. Most present day 3DTVs utilize active shutter glasses. Does everyone watching programming on a 3D TV need to wear 3D glasses? Yes. Everyone watching programming on a 3D TV must wear 3D glasses to properly see the 3D effect. Without 3D glasses, the image on the screen will appear doubled, distorted, and unwatchable. Currently, a technology does not exist which allows a single TV to display both 2D and 3D content simultaneously without 3D glasses.

OH YEAH! Mitsubishi 3DC-1000 3D HDTV Starter Pack July 20, 2010 Colleen (Palisades Park, NJ) 17 out of 18 found this review helpful
I got the Mitsubishi WD-65C9 65-Inch DLP TV in November and have been waiting for the Mitsubishi 3d kit. I was able to order this kit from RC Willey and it was delivered today! I hooked it up in a matter of minutes (I also have 3d ready Blu-Ray player) and turned it on. The kit comes with a dvd that previews upcoming 3d Blu-Ray releases and I have to tell you, it is pretty amazing. The 3d is really fantastic and I can not believe that I am able to have this in my living room!! I LOVE IT!!!! When we turned it on...all we could say was "Wow" over and over again. I have one blu-ray 3d dvd movie - Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs - I plan on watching it tonight with my kids. I highly recommend the Mitsubishi WD-65C9 TV and the Mitsubishi 3DC-1000 3D HDTV Starter Pack Kit. Can't wait for more releases!!!
3DC-1000 with Mitsubishi 73737 July 26, 2010 K. Boggs (Savannah, Ga USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I received my 3DC-1000 from HSN last Friday.
I have a Directv HD22 DVR connected to a Sony STR DV1000 receiver (1.3 HDMI), the output of the receiver is connected to the 3d Adapter and then to the my Mitsubishi 73737 TV. The instructions say it will not work with a 1.3 HDMI receiver but it works ok through mine.
If you already have a Mitsubishi 3D ready TV and a newer Directv DVR (HR22, 23 or 24) it is a no brainer to get this kit. Since there is so little Blu Ray 3D content I would wait before getting a 3D Blu Ray player.
I'm guessing that 3D will be a hot seller by Christmas.
DLP is the way to go!!! August 3, 2010 James Scialdone (Rhode Island) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have the 82 837 and 3D is def meant for the big screen. Not a little led or plasma. we all know by now that 3D mode makes TV a little darker, but its not a big deal and you can adjust brigntness for 3D playback. Games were fun. I liked baseball and Pain the least effect wise. Can't wait for Blueray firmware for PS3. And maybe with a little luck now that 3d is popular now, maybe Mitsubishi will address the darkening problem. I'm not holding my breath but don't listen to negative reviews on here. It's not that bad. Remember DLP is what you watch in movie theater. Great product!
Mitsubishi was made for 3D August 3, 2010 MCF 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've had the Mitsubishi 3d starter pack for a month now, got it from Ultimate Electronics. It took 15 minutes to hook up to a Mitsubishi 73835 Diamond and the PS3. It is amazing and works perfectly. The 3D pops out nice and is very deep inside the TV, and it doesn't have a layered look. The depth is a smooth transition. The glasses are comfortable and light. The 73" Diamond tv is amazing with the 3D kit, it looks better than any of the 3D TV's displayed at the stores. At first I had a little trouble with flickering and the 3D would turn off and back on again, but I had the converter box sitting next to the center channel speaker. Once I moved it away from the speaker, I haven't had any problems. Can't wait until September when playstation adds the blu ray 3D software. I highly recommend the 3D Starter kit with the Mitsubishi DLP's.
Mitshubishi 3DC-1000 August 7, 2010 Jon 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought the 3DC-1000 through amazon.com and am extremely pleased! The DirectTV 3D channels popout at you and are amazing! You can even download all the world cup games in 3D and watch them!
I have the 65" DLP projection TV and the HD picture is awesome but even more awesome with the 3DC-1000 kit. Easy to setup and use.
Only issue is there is only one HDMI input on the 3DC-1000, and I have two input devices (DirectTV and Bluray 3D player), so I have to switch cables whenever I want to use one or the other.
Also, I bought a Sony 3D Bluray player, and updated the firmware in July, but it does not properly display the 3D signal through this device. I didn't do my homework on the 3D Bluray player and am suffering for it now....
